Dear Family and Friends,

Hello!!  What an exciting day of changes…  today I learned that I am staying in Maringá, which is a COMPLETE surprise– I really, really thought I would be transferred.  But, I will recieve a new companion; I’m not sure who yet.  Sister Ramos and Sister Cardoso will be transferred.  Sister Bullen is staying in Maringá also and will be training. My apartment will change from 4 Sisters to 6 Sisters.  Yahoo!! I’m not exactly sure how it will work out with our areas, but I know that it’s all in the Lord’s hands!!  Missão Celestial (AKA Missão Brasil Londrina) will be recieving 26 new missionaries this transfer.  I am so happy and EXCITED with how the work of the Lord is progressing here on the earth.  WOW.  I was talking with Sister Ramos about how many new missionaries we have in the world and how we are going to have one companionship for each neighborhood pretty soon.  Pretty soon the people won’t be able to say that they have never heard of the Church or of the Book of Mormon before.

Congratulations and Happy Women’s Day to all the women reading this e-mail!! This week we celebrated Dia das Mulheres on the 8th here in Brasil.

Well, I was thinking these weeks (like usual) about this work.. because we contact many people on the street who have a whole lot to say to us.. if you know what I mean.  But I was thinking, the best part of this work is that our message is TRUE.  If we always speak according to the doctrine of the Church, we will never contradict ourselves, we will never say something that is not according to the Bible and the word of God.  It makes this work a lot easier that it is true, ya know?

Well, some of the people here in Maringá are having a bit of a hard time, but I have faith that all will work out according to their and our works, faith, and prayers, and the will of the Lord.  I am excited to see what happens this transfer.. these upcoming days… with my new companion, the new Sisters, and my area.  My goodness.  But, I am determined to work super-duper hard to build the Kingdom of the Lord here in MARINGÁ!!

I love you all and I am so grateful for your love and your support!!  Have a GREAT and safe week!!

Love,
Sister Suzannah Jane Butler

Cleomar

Dear Family and Friends,

What a great week!!  My big news of the week is that this month Missão Brasil Londrina will have 200 baptisms and that I will baptize 3-5 of those children of God!!!  How exciting!! We fasted and prayed together as a mission in order to fulfill this goal, and I am so very excited to do so.

We will be recieving a new Mission President on July 1!!  We have transfers this Monday and I have the feeling that I will be saying Tchau tchau to Maringá, but we’ll see!!  We will be going to Londrina on the 7th for a Conference, and I am super duper excited.

Bruna was confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints this Sunday and bore her testimony in Testimony Meeting.  It was really beautiful.  We held a FHE with her, Matues, and Mikael and we watched Finding Faith in Christ.  We were all crying and the Spirit was so strong.  Mikael (6) said, “I want to be with Jesus!!”  It was great!  I want to, also, haha.

I was praying, praying, praying that I would run into Cleomar in our path, because he is in another area now.  Heavenly Father heard my prayer, and answered it!!  We were walking on the Avenue when a motorcyclist stopped in front of us….. and it was CLEOMAR!!  He said that he is going to be baptized, that he “is only going to be baptized if Butler is there” that I made a difference in his life and in Brazil… it was so beautiful.  One time I was at his house and he played a Dixie Chicks song for us… it was Goodbye Earl, ahaha.  I told him what it meant and it was really funny.  When he ran into us he said that he was listening to Dixie Chicks the other day and thought of me and started crying and crying.   I was so touched.. and I am soo happy that he is going to be baptized!!  Unfortunately I won’t be authorized to attend the baptism, but it doesn’t even matter because his salvation is the happiest thing in the world to me.

I had the great opportunity of having an ingrown toenail operation with out anethesia (spelling??).  But is wasn’t bad at all hahaha.  All is well.

I had a funny experience a few months ago that I forgot until now.  We were eating lunch with a family and a little boy kept saying SISTERS and his parents kept correcting him, NO SISTERES.  So it was SISTERS, NO SISTERES, SISTERS, NO SISTERES.  It was really funny.. because they were correcting his English, but it was already correct.. ahha.

I love you all and hope you have a GREAT WEEK!!

Love,
Sister Suzannah Jane Butler

A true Elect

Dear Family and Friends,

This week was amazing!!  We had two baptisms yesterday.  One was Jéferson, age 22, and the other was Bruna, age 23, who is the aunt of Mateus our recent convert.  Jéferson was travelling here and had already heard a lot about the Church and wanted to be baptized.  So we taught him everything in one week, he was already living the commandments, prayed and recieved an answer, and was baptized in 8 days.  He was baptized before Church and confirmed in Sacrament Meeting.  A true elect.  Bruna is Mateus’ aunt.  She is was SO happy to be baptized and to start a new life.  She is so beautiful.  She said that we found Mateus in the right hour, not too soon not too late, and I know it is the same with her.  I love you all so much and I am so grateful for your prayers!!

Love,
Sister Suzannah Jane Butler

PS did y’all hear about the comet in Russia, the Pope leaving the Church?  Also, I saw a sign that said

Anti-Social

and I thought of my dear mother and how she would laugh at that 🙂  Hahahaha also I saw a mini-Lady who did the same thing with her paw that Lady always does, ahha.  Love you!!
